Essa Township

Essa is a beautiful rural township in Ontario that is located both west and south of Barrie. Located inside of Simcoe County with a population of roughly 21,000 people, Essa is home to many small communities such as Angus, Thornton, and Baxter with it being well known for its agriculture industry (particularly potato farming) and the nearby military base CFB Borden. 

Angus, being it’s largest community, is becoming a more sought after location for homeowners looking to raise a family in a smaller community with great access to education and many of the same amenities you will find in largest cities like Barrie. 

For those looking to commute, Angus is a great alternative market as it is roughly the same distance as those travelling from Barrie to Toronto. 

Traditionally, Essa provides a more affordable housing market than Barrie and is a great area for those who are looking for suitable homes under $500,000.
